Since graduating from The New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in 1984, Dr. Keenan has been a general equine practitioner in central New Jersey: from 1984 to 1988 at The Walnridge Equine Clinic and beginning in 1988 in his own practice. In 2004 Dr. Keenan and Dr. Ron McAlister merged their practices to form Keenan McAlister Equine.
Dr. Keenan has served on many committees and boards concerning the equine industry both in New Jersey and nationally. Dr. Keenan is currently on the NJ Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners and the Business Education Committee of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). In the past Dr. Keenan has served as the president of the NJ Association of Equine Practitioners and as vice president of the NJ Horse Council: in addition he has served on numerous committees having to do with the equine industry in New Jersey.
Dr. Keenan's main veterinary interest lies in general and preventative medicine; reproduction and foal medicine.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family and riding his road bicycle long distances.
Ron McAlister, D.V.M
Dr. McAlister graduated from the University of Tennesse College of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced in New York State for 8 years and practiced in New Jersey for 14 years before merging practices with Dr. Keenan in 2004. Dr. McAlister's primary interests are in reproduction and foal medicine. He also has strong interests in preventive and general medicine.
Lynsey Makkreel, D.V.M.
Dr. Lynsey Makkreel was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. She earned her degree in veterinary medicine at The Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph where she was the top graduating student of her year. Dr. Makkreel is interested in lameness and performance issues using both traditional and alternative therapies
